A creature with small ears and a beak-like mouth. Foilate forms can be seen emerging from the sides.
This boss could be a depiction of a demon to warn the medieval viewer against transgressive behaviour.
The ceiling in the chancel was repainted in 1862, and again in the late 1930s.
