IHS is a common Christian monogram originally derived from the Greek name 'ΙΗΣΟΥΣ' meaning Jesus. The symbol has also come to symbolise Latin phrases relating to western Christian worship. For instance, Iesus Hominum Salvator means 'Jesus, Savior of Men'.
