Mid-Fifteenth century.

Boss shows a dog, painted in gold, curled up and in a resting pose.

Dogs are associated with undying love and faithfulness.  Dogs may be shown in domestic scenes, as in this boss.

The ceiling in the chancel was repainted in 1862, and again in the late 1930s.
