Half of a creatures head with small rounded ears and well defined eyes. The effect of the boss is of something peering over a wall to stare down at the viewer.
The exaggeration of the eyes give the impression of something always watching from above. This boss could be a depiction of a demon to warn the medieval viewer against transgressive behaviour.
The nave ceiling was repainted in 1865.
